New urbanism

Today I saw John norquist, president of the congress of new urbanism
speak. It was motivational andante encouraging learning experience.
He really touched on planning isues we see daily and the innovations
that are happening in the urban planning field!
Ideas on no parking, no set backs, design based zoning so we can have
mixed use density which then leads to a complex neighborhood or ex:
elmwood village. We don't make stuff like that anymore and it's so
sad. But John is changing those things and so are many other leaders
and I hope to be one of them!!!

RIP snowball

Today was sad. Snowball, my first office cactus died. Not sure exactly
why but I think that it was due to over watering. :/
The good news is that snowball had so many babies that I have
transplanted some from today and also from
A few weeks ago into new soil.
Snowball lives on forever!

School work school

Spent today doing normal things. I did book the car reservation and
register for the building performance seminar that is in Rochester on
Friday. Which I am very excited for!!!!
Probably gonna set me back 150 but that's so cheap compared to a
normal class and it's with the famous John straube who is one of andys
dearest friends in the field.

Also, Joe went and picked up my new moped tires today which is super
exciting. Should have those on soon. I was getting nervous ecause my
existing ones are super old.

Yay!

Bad day

Didn't get my dream job due to funding cuts... At least it wasn't my
qualifications or education. It still sucks though.

Looks like I plan on attending grad school in NYC. I already booked a
flight a few days ago to spend a couple days there next weekend to
look at hunter and ccny school of urban sustainability. I didn't want
to wait and now I'm glad I didn't.
Life lesson learned, keep your options opened and have someone who can
help support you.not sure what I would do without joes support and
true care. Andy is super supportive also, letting me know there are
other positions and also hooking me up with people he knows at hunter.
My two men!

Other okay news:
Got an 83 an a 69 on two tests but they were on average, higher than
most!
Studying for an eco geg exam worth 30 % of my grade.. Sippin on tea
and eating yummy pizza Joe made me.
Hopefully my test will go well tomorrow. Then I'm gonna relax.
